The Handmade's Tale

The Handmade’s Tale is a community revitalisation project that aims to reclaim the identity of the crochet homemakers in Singapore through storytelling and craft participatory design.

This Spring/Summer capsule collection reflects the connection between the senior and amateur crafters to bridge the generational gap. To see, touch, and wear these garments is to believe in the carefree and inclusive spirit of the craft culture.

This collection plays with drape silhouettes for a laid-back kampung style. Some of the garments are unisex, and they explore the concept of versatility and interchangeability through modular crochet pieces detachable with buttons. The colour palette is a melting pot of vibrant colours with abstract interpretations of crochet language as textile prints. The collection’s harmonious layering of textile prints, crochet and embroidery celebrates eccentric dressing.
