Thesis abstract

Higher education in arts management: a case study of LASALLE College of the Arts and the emerging arts manager in Singapore

Through a case study of the BA(Hons) Arts Management programme at LASALLE College of the Arts, the thesis employs a qualitative research methodology to examine the current state of arts management education as well as potential critical areas of development for it. Areas explored include curricula design pathways, the global landscape of BA in arts management programmes and the impacts of such programmes on the industry. Subsequently, a total of three critical areas of development have been identified and analysed, with additional recommendations surrounding arts management at large also made to further bolster developments in the field.
