Gigi Boon
Hwei Qi is a classical pianist who also writes original songs. She is fascinated by the relationship between music and nature, as well as how influences from nature in music impact human emotions. Hwei Qi is also interested in music education and hopes to explore working with students with physical disabilities as she believes that music can encourage bravery and open-mindedness in the face of both good and bad circumstances in life.
Work
Hwei Qi participated in piano concerto competitions in LASALLE College of the Arts as well as Johor Bahru, and was a bamboo flautist in the Southern Chinese Orchestra of Malaysia. As a Mandopop songwriter, she recently produced and did the music arrangements for two festive music videos in collaboration with singer Aaron Wong. His work can be found on his YouTube channel.
