BA(Hons) Music
2019 — 2021

Emily Sera will graduate with a BA(Hons) Music degree from LASALLE College of the Arts in 2021. Majoring in vocals, Emily is the frontwoman and bassist for the alternative rock/shoegaze band, Coming Up Roses. Emily prides herself in writing songs that are direct and honest, dealing with issues that are critical to the human experience. This vision has lent itself to Emily’s distinct first-person storytelling style being a distinctive lyrical trait in Coming Up Roses’ songs. Emily strives to expand her craft as a musician and songwriter, while continuing to perform at festivals across Singapore and beyond. She hopes to bring people closer to one another through her songs.

Emily's notable performances include International music conferences such as ASEAN Music Showcase Festival (2020) and Music Matters 'Live' (2019). She also performed for Esplanade's Rocking The Region festival (2021), Fred Perry's Subculture Live (2019), LASALLE's Rock and Indie Festival (2019) and Esplanade's Baybeats (2018). Emily has also opened for UK band, FUR (2019).

Her band, Coming Up Roses, live sets were featured on two festivals hosted by international online radio station DKFM Shoegaze Radio. They include:
DreamGaze Worldwide II (2020) & DREAMWAVES Online (2021). Coming Up Roses was also featured as the cover of Spotify's 'New Music Friday Singapore' playlist for their Waters mini-album and their music has appeared on Apple Music's 'The A-List: Singapore Music' playlist and on 938Now's Singapore Sounds.
