Alexander was born in Malang, Indonesia and started his musical education at the age of four. He completed his ABRSM piano performance diploma in 2015 and has participated and won awards in numerous piano competitions internationally, with the most recent being the Bronze Medal at the All Japan International Piano Competition 2019 in Tokyo. Alex has also participated in masterclasses with international music educators such as Laurens Patzlaff from the Lübeck University of Music, Richard Ormrod from the Royal Northern College of Music and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, as well as Prof. Nigel Clayton from the Royal College of Music. Alex will graduate with a BA(Hons) Music degree from LASALLE College of the Arts in 2021, having majored in classical piano performance under the tutelage of Benjamin Loh.

Work

In 2018, Alexander was hired as a pianist to perform together with the Czech Symphony Orchestra for a TV commercial scoring session at the Czech Television recording studio. He has also recorded an original composition for the School of Contemporary Music's Piano Anthology and was involved in the production of numerous LASALLE student concerts such as the Piano Voyage concert series (2018–2021) and The Living Composer's Series concert (2019).
