2018 — 2021

Joanne Ngeow recently completed an MA in Asian Art Histories at LASALLE College of the Arts. She explored the works and practice of pioneer Singapore artist Tang Da Wu. Joanne's background is in biomedical science and she enjoys exploring the parallels and intersections between biomedical science and the visual arts. She hopes to continue bringing the two fields closer together through joint workshops, exhibitions and research.

Discovering the non-performative works of Tang Da Wu

My thesis explores Tang Da Wu's performance art practice and process and explores Tang's works beyond their material nature but instead on the questions they raise/ pose. Using examples from Tang's works, we explore the role of collaborative authorship in performance art.
