Amanda Yeo

Amanda Yeo's practice engages primarily with lens-based media, both digital and analogue. They are drawn to scenes and objects in their everyday life which appear to be inconspicuously staged or in random order. Through documenting various acts of personal encounters with such quotidian phenomena, they inevitably become an agent within the sphere of subjects observed. A constant negotiation between observation and intervention thus plays out in their exercises of distilling a sense of playfulness and absurdity from what loiter in plain sight, against the sanctioned monotonous rhythm of indifferent passersby.
